“ Jay has been a tremendous asset to our business! ”
A few months ago, I had a happy client. Her site was pixel perfect. It looked fine across all browsers and all info was available and all was in order on mobile devices. A Flash site was developed to give the desired animation between pages for a more seamless transition, plus a pixel-perfect HTML mirror (sans animations), for the growing number of devices that no longer support Flash. For the Flash content, we used an actionscript to allow for simple changes to be implemented without the need to re-hire our Flash developer.
In order for PacLag.com to remain a relevant part of our portfolio, this irrelevant and outdated approach to building websites had to go. We decided to delier the owner a completely re-written responsive web site, doing our best to keeping it looking exactly the same as before. Under the hood, this was not the case; the new responsive layout for smaller displays is vastly improved with a more semantic navigation, multiple layouts, along with prioritization of what information is delivered based on the real estate provided by each device. Other architectural points include image resizing, content distribution network, semantic code and and the maintaining of the owner's graphic desires throughout the responsive revamp are the keystones to this gem of a project.
